Baker Artist Awards

WELCOME to the Baker Artist Awards.

The William G. Baker, Jr. Memorial Fund established the Baker Artist Awards in 2008-2009 to recognize Baltimore’s artists and engage regional, national and international audiences in supporting these artists’ work. The 2012 Baker Artist Awards encourage all Baltimore area artistsworking in any creative discipline to register, exhibit their work, comment on others’ work, select favorite works, promote the site to friends, enjoy the broad public attention given to the site and compete for the Mary Sawyers Baker Prizes and b-grant awards. The latest web technology is available to artists and the viewing public to better appreciate video, audio, image and text nominations. All site visitors are invited to login as participants, comment on artists’ work and create a “favorites” exhibition.

“We are blown away by this honor, and are very excited to spread the word to other local artist about this great award. Many thanks to those of you who voted for us, and who continue to give local music, and arts your support”

- Ed Hough

R.I.P Dave Giegerich

Yesterday we lost one of the most influential dobro, and steel players our community has ever heard. His playing, and humor touched the lives of so many, and we count ourselves lucky for having the opportunity to play music with him. His haunting dobro, and slick steel licks will be ever etched in our minds, and will be missed.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Pam, Axel, Carter, and all of Dave’s family and friends.

“I wanna’ see big smiles out there tonight boys…..”

RAYSREALM reviews “A Few More Miles”

News No Comments »

Here’s what RAYSREALM had to say about out latest record:

First song in, Ed Hough’s vocals begin telling of his longing for “Sweet Amanda” over an upbeat, infectious melody and I’m hooked already.

Goes on to say…

In all, pulling “A Few More Miles” out of that ocean of local CD’s a few weeks back was a shot in the dark… The only thing that’s left is for me to check these guys out live sometime, because I’m sure they can lay it down like nobody’s business. Highly recommended!
